Tagung: Decolonizing the Academy? Strategies, Praxis and Methods from Women of the Global South
This Autumn School explores the role of Latin America and the Global South as sources of resistance, solidarity, and knowledges. As immigrant researchers and Latin American women, we aim to foster cross-cultural dialogue on gender, diversity, and decolonial practices within European academia. We feel inspired by and wish to contribute to the previous work of female researchers of diverse skin colors and from different historical and geographical backgrounds, who challenged the Matrix of Domination.
The program brings together scholars, students, and practitioners to reflect critically on dominant academic paradigms and to co-create inclusive methodologies. Through a hybrid format and combining keynotes, panels, workshops, and cultural events, we seek to amplify marginalized voices, promote mutual learning, and rethink how knowledge is produced and shared. Our goal is to contribute to a more equitable academic landscape—one that actively integrates diverse epistemologies and moves beyond symbolic inclusivity toward systemic transformation. Here you can find the program for our Autumn School.
